Hi guys, I am considering changing my xls10 for the xxls12. Main reason is to get a bit more low end bass.

I like the 10 but sometimes wish it could go a bit lower.

Has anyone had experience with these and is it worth the change or should I stick with the xls10?

I have the P830452 xls10 at the mo and looking at the P825017, both 4 ohm. 10 is in a sealed box and the 12 would be too.

Only differences I can see is the 10 has a nomex cone and the xxls12 has a pp cone (personally I have no idea what the difference is) there is also slightly less power in the 12 to the 10!

Thanks for your help.

If the 10 is strangled in a small box it wil be punchy but at the expense of low end responce due to raising the Q of the driver.
Try it ported or a slightly larger box.

Also have a look at the Scanspeak 30W/4558T00. I am thinking of trying one as I love the sound of the XLS10 but want just that bit more when it's turned up.

Scanspeak do a car version of the above but it is quite difficult to find.

Thanks to both of you! Really happy with the sound especially on rock/pop songs it's just on the dance/hip hop when up loud would like a bit more if you understand me?

Currently got approx a 20ltr box for the xls10 which seems bigger than the majority and it's sweet just looking for a bit more low end especially at higher volumes!

I've always had 12's, this is my first 10 and although I'm very impressed I'm curious to see what the 12 inch version (or very similar at least) would perform!

Thanks again sooty
