Just had this Dsp delivered to my mums house today and with the aid of emailing Nakamichi uk for back up it is a define genuine product. It comes with a usb cable but without the multi pin connector used for power in, remote, and if used speaker in and out. It just so happens that I have one spare from a scrapped Alpine hu.
It has android user interface via Bluetooth and the usual pc based software.
It is listed by a third party with the product coming from overseas that is why I had reservations on purchase.

Will be fitting it as soon as the weather gets above 10°c lol.
Fingers crossed.

I'd be very interested in how this works out for you. Don't let them give you the overseas bit, they're in a warehouse in Basildon!

I struggled to find any experiences on the web, and I'm not in a rush, so I've been waiting for someone to try it so I can get my questions answered!

Thanking you in advance...

Thanks MR2FC I wanted to pull the trigger and see if the too good to be true price could be wrong.
Can't be any worse than some lower end stuff forgetting settings n such.

Some higher end stuff as well! Looks like 31band parametric EQ? Each channel?

I think I'm gonna just dive in now!

Yeh Thad had a Dime bar moment when I bought it. Realised that it's high level input only!
Stripped it down and it looks like it can be retrofitted with rca's.
Had a word with Gordon the Amp Doctor and he said he would tackle it for me.
Also sent him a Gennys P2 that I got from evil bay and has had a very hard Chav life.

wonder if there is any floor noise, a few friends /members from our local forum got a good deal on a batch of Steg dsp's which turned out to all have moderate floor noise.

also wonder if the output is 50w peak or rms as its not mentioned clear enough.

Upon opening the unit for inspection of the circuit board I saw the ic chip for the speaker output and it seemed just like the ones found in headunits.
Didn't make a note of the number but was my guesstimate.
The whole case is made from aluminium to a t as a heatsink and seems to be strong and we'll thought out.
Hopefully the noise floor problem will be a non starter.

This is really interesting, I need something to go between the HU in my GTR and my amp, but have been reluctant to spend £3-400 on a audison unit that I doubt I will see the benefit of...

Doing it is not enough - it has to be done right.

I've ordered one, I'm looking to link to my golf Mk7 oem unit so needed high level inputs etc and the audison/helix stuff is much more than I want to spend so we'll see how it works out.

If it can flatten the eq output, let me run and active front 2way and do time alignment ok I'll be very happy.

Well at 81 quid if it doesn't float your boat there is always the sell it on option.
I dismantled the Alpine hu plug and used each female end heatshrinked and epoxied in the socket hole. There are 20 pins if you use the whole high in and out and power, so a couple of hu harnesses would be required as they only hold 16.

hey mate while the unit is in Gordons hands you might aswell have it dynoed to see how she delivers, I too assume its a headunit output at 50w peak roughly 22rms but would be worth investigating.

by the way uppon installation did you face any noise floor or did you not have the chance to hear at all yet?

Well I opened the box inspected the manual, groped it a little then the penny dropped with the high level thang.
Got my screwdriver dismantled it right down then reasembled it.
I will mount it probably in the glove box to minimise input signal cable length.
Messaged Gordon today and he said it is on the to do list at the end of the week.

Mine arrived this morning, build quality looks really good but I'm not going to install yet. Got a chest infection so I'm sitting in the lounge feeling sorry for myself.

Will download the software in the meantime to have a play around with the functions.

Its a shame there's no plug included but I'm going to break out my secret weapon to make one - polymorph :-)

I am a little confused about the wiring though, normally an amp will have a separate (and normally higher gauge) terminal for the power and ground, but this seems use the multiplug. That's a pretty weedy connection.

Bri, do you or Gordon know why fuse to use if using as an amp as well as a DSP? I can't see anything in the manual covering the fuse.
