done a small test with my own and a few friends mics and sensors earlyier, just for a bit off fun!

only running two subs and amps at the moment as one of my amps is away for repair.

playing a 36hz tone , not up full and here are the results, the mics/sensors are not in the right place etc, so not very scientific, but still interesting!

we used 5 meters in total.
from wheel, or top of pics

Me thinks some of them need calibrating.

the bottom meter and the term lab are both running sensors and are very close and not in the same point on the screen.

and the other three are all with in 1% of each other.
i thought as the sensors don't read above 70 hz ish the harmonics mean that they do read lower etc.

the third meter down is just back from being calibrated!

why do you think that?

o and congrats on your score again! amazing , still can't get over that

the mics will be picking up fibrations off the dashboard as well. I thought that the difference between audiocontrol and termlab only really became obvious at higher spl. Like riches scores at the weekend

The middle of the mics looks a little low.

And from past experience, the term-lab normally read lower than the audiocontrol sensor.

Dont know quite what the point is?

We know from competing over the years that:

On Competition Sensors, Audiocontrol is typically 1-2db higher, but this is frequency and SPL dependant (higher SPL, the further out it is)

Audiocontrol Mics, when they are calliberated, are about 5db higher than dbdrag sensor circa 155db, but again, this is frequency, SPL and weather dependant.

This means all your mics are about right, and the Audiocontrol sensor reads a little low.

Excellent i know there are loads of fluctuations due to temp etc. Buts its a measuring point(excuse the pun). I have always believed the audio to be 3 - 5db more thats why everyone likes it and it has sold so well and its like little money compared to B&K and lucas. But great to see...

i've had bad experience with audio control. I think the mic that was being used was a normal mic for singing in but my sealed SE15 with 1krms playing late night trip got 134.9 :( and blackjacks 3 pioneers for 124.9, i've always bn a bit wary of audiocontrol since then....gna hav to get it tested on termlab tho
